Poll: What software do you use to edit your photos?

// April 8th, 2008

As one of our most recent polls shows we have photographers of all skill levels here from beginners to experts. We all have different reasons for taking photographs and a different workflow. Part of virtually every digital photographer’s workflow is editing photos in software. So I’m curious what software you use (primarily) to edit your photos. If you don’t see your favorite app in the list, click the link to add it.

What is the primary software you use to edit your photos?

  1. Douglas Stetner says:

    I would break this into two categories, light editing and heavy editing.

    I use Aperture mainly, but when I get to the point of wanting to use masks etc. I use The GIMP.

  2. John Watson says:

    I often do something similar, especially when I’m working with RAW files. I didn’t expect to see so many Lightroom users. Adobe sure knows how to do it.

  3. Brian Auer says:

    I’m with you guys, except I just use ACR for the first run and Photoshop to dig deeper.

  4. Sam says:

    I use Lightroom and Photoshop.

  5. Stew says:

    As John said, I use Lightroom for everything possible in it, then Photoshop Elements for the spot touch-ups (when they’re too extensive for Lightroom).
