I love the look of printed photos and make an effort to print at least a few shots from each 'outing' my camera and I take. I also have recently started giving them as gifts. Shooting things I know poeple will love or with color that will go great in their living room etc.. They have been a big hit so far!

The more megapixels the better, and it depends a bit on the subject, but I've gotten quite good 16x20s from 6 megapixels. As long as you're not examining them with a magnifying glass you're fine.

Very nice idea. I'm just wandering, how many megapixels do I need to print an 11x14 or even an 16x20?

I'm going on vacation and I was planning to print at least one big.

A while back I decided to make a few big prints of some favourite photos. They turned out great, but I haven't actually gotten round to hanging them on a wall yet. This post might just push me into getting it done.

I printed one of my favorite photos as a 20x24 canvas print through Shutterfly. It turned out beautifully, looking almost like a real oil painting. A bit spendy, but fun to do that one time.
