Capture Moments Clearly: How to Clean Camera Lenses Properly

Imagine yourself at an important job, maybe a big, beautiful wedding by the beach. You open your bag and reach for another lens. It’s windy, and sand is blowing in your eyes, but you power through and switch lenses. As soon as you start shooting again, you review your images and see a tiny little speck on the same spot in all of the recent pictures you took. Those specks probably mean that your lens has a grain of sand or two stuck inside it.

How To Do Astrophotography Using DSLR And Telescope

Growing up, I was one of those kids running around and telling everyone that I’m going to be an astronaut. I had a room that would make you feel like Buzz Lightyear could actually live in it and forget he’s on Earth. So it was pretty obvious that somehow I’d find myself getting into astronomy.

Now I never really became an astronaut but currently, I’m into amateur astronomy – particularly astrophotography. I still remember the first photo of the sky I took with my old Pentax digital camera when I once went on a camping trip with my family in the mountains. Unfortunately, it was just darkness with a few white dots.

How to Take Better Winter Landscape Photos

Winter is personally my least favorite time of year – it’s cold, it’s depressing, there’s barely any sun out. But one thing that even I have to admit is that winter landscapes make for positively fantastic photographs – if you know how to approach them.  There are a couple of issues that even amateur photographers will notice when they take their camera out in December with the goal of photographing a beautiful snowy landscape.  The lack of contrast, the awkward low angle of the sun, and often the inability to find anything that stands out – primarily since everything is covered with snow.
