Martin Stranka and Music of His Dreams

Martin Stranka is one of my most favorite photographers. I decided to open his inner world made of fragile subtle senses filled with poesy and sounds of beautiful music to readers of PhotoDoto.

All this gives us opportunity to enjoy visual side of this whole universe in one person.

Grow Your Photography Business By Growing As A Human Being

Most articles which talk about improving your photography business will tell you about how to become a better photographer.

Some will tell you about the need to improve your business skills.

Sure, those are important. But I think they’re missing something. And it’s ironic that they’re missing the most obvious and most important part of your business – you.

How To Become A Professional Photographer. Now.

I see more and more magazine articles and blog posts where disillusioned photographers advise aspiring young passionate artists not to enter this career.

A few weeks ago, for example, I picked up a popular photography magazine and was left depressed because just about every article talked about photography being a dying profession and the inadequacy of it to pay bills.

The feature article of the magazine in question had an interview with an industry hotshot, and her golden piece of advice in that article was not to consider photography as a full-time career, but to limit it to “weekend-warrior” type of gig.

Really?

Photography With Bad Weather – Challenge Accepted!

If you have a photo camera (DSLR or a film one) then you’ve definitely took photos outdoors at least once, twice or even regularly. When capturing landscape photography or portraits you could notice that weather and lighting do matter greatly. You can take photos of the same object with a few minutes time interval and get different results.

Bad weather is the best one for taking good landscape photos

And you know what’s the reason? Lightning! When you work in studios you are the master of lighting: you can move light poles and experiment with shadows at your liking. But when you are on the open space you can do nothing, but catch natural lighting without thinking whether it is good or bad. In fact, it is always good. It’s said that bad weather is a myth, there are only bad clothes. By the way, it concerns your photography too.

When Less is Really More: Minimalism in Photography [70+ Examples]

Who does understand minimalism as a form of art? I guess, quite less people than those who like it. Have you ever noticed that you like a photo, music, video or any other artwork, but you can’t explain why it is so attractive for you?

It excites your mind and you can’t take your eyes off of it. Minimalist photography is this kind of things.

Who are World’s Most Famous Photographers?

When it comes to naming the best, the most professional, the most famous photographers of the world, it always makes me shrug, because you just can’t name all of them, and you can’t make a “top 10” list of artists of any kind, because art is not about rating.

But still, there are some famous photographers, pronounced more frequently, and knowing them is a must if you don’t want to blush in a company of snobby slightly bearded guys in hipster glasses who might ask you “So you’re a photographer? And who’s your favourite?”

So here we go.
