ZipLens, a new online lens rental service with shipping within the United States launched today. The service is almost identical to RentGlass.com which I’ve reviewed previously. At first glance, the services appear almost identical in functionality and price, offering a variety of Canon and Nikon mount lenses. One advantage ZipLens has is the ability to reserve a lens that is out of stock. I’ll have a full review of the service soon.

I for one can tell you that the lens arrive on time and in perfect brand new condition. The prices are great and the lenses are beautiful! Its a great alternative to investing in an expensive lens.
I think these are great services in concept. However, after checking back a over a period of time, it looks like the high-end lenses are usually out. I’d like to rent one of the Canon “L” long zooms for an event but don’t have much faith I’d receive it in time.
I hope these services gain in popularity and are able to increase their inventory.
That’s an interesting service. Unfotunately it’s only available in the USA…
I wish this service was open before I left for vacation! I definitely could have used a telephoto lens. Good to hear that this exists!
Wow, I think that’s a great idea for people that love photography, but can’t afford to invest in the equipment. I also agree that it’s too bad it’s just in the states.
Here is another option for renting: http://www.photolensrental.com
