Music to make pictures by…

I listen to music a lot. And it seems like lately I’ve come across a fair number of songs that have something to do with cameras. Just for fun, here’s a sampling, some classics, some questionable, and some newer ones, too.

  • Kodachrome by Paul Simon
  • I Turn My Camera On by Spoon
  • F-Stop Blues by Jack Johnson
  • Photograph by Natalie Merchant
  • Photograph by Ringo Starr
  • The Harsh Truth of the Camera by Morrissey
  • A Photograph of You by Depeche Mode
  • Pictures of You by Oingo Boingo
  • Photograph by Ella Fitzgerald
  • Photograph by Camper Van Beethoven

  1. Some my myTunes library:

Local Boy in the Photograph by TheStereophonics
Photo Jenny by Belle & Sebastian
    Camera by REM
    Camera Shy by The Lucksmiths
Good Looks To Camera EP by The Bank Holidays

  2. I suppose I don’t need to mention that “Photograph” by Camper Van Beethoven is a cover of “Photograph” by Ringo. I’d submit “Picturebook” by the Kinks, and “Photobooth” by Death Cab for Cutie.

  3. “People Take Pictures Of Each Other” by the Kinks.
A superb song if ever there was one!

People take pictures of the Summer,
Just in case someone thought they had missed it,
And to prove that it really existed.

Fathers take pictures of their mothers,
And sisters take pictures of brothers,
Just to show that they love one another.

    :o)

  4. Some more of my favorites:

“Wishing (If I Had a Photograph)” by A Flock of Seagulls
“Pictures of You” by The Cure
“Freeze Frame” by the J. Geils Band

    🙂
